After work today, my knees were on fire.
I don’t make any excuse, because at 76 years of age my knees are worn out – and yet I keep trying to do what I did as a young man!
Over the years, I have listened to lots of people who talk about knee replacement, or knee anatomy, and they harp on about who they know was forever speaking about his pain behind his kneecap, and has already had a successful knee replacement operation. This, after years of wearing knee supports, or trying Voltarol gel and things like that, that often didn’t help at all.
But now they now have a new lease of life, and this makes me wonder?
I have never tried these sorts of lotions because looking at the ingredients list, I can’t understand how they work. How do they enter the body and tell the brain (via our feedback loop system – from the knee to the brain), that “whoopee, here is some relief.” Or is it all just like many things in our world today, advertising blurb that sucks at least some of us into believing it? I don’t know the answer to this.
What I do know is this:
It’s the biggest joint in the body
It connects your thigh bone (femur) to your shin bone (tibia)
It helps you stand, move, and keep your balance.
It’s impossible to get from sitting to standing without it.
It contains a complex network of cartilage, meniscus, muscles, nerves and other ligaments.
It can become excruciating if it’s over used and damaged.
It’s a critical part of our skeletal system.
It supports our legs and helps us bend and move.
You will have to kneel on it when you go to meet the King to accept your knighthood.
In other words, we cannot do without it.
So why do we abuse our knees?
Personally speaking, I ran cross-country, played rugby, walked thousands of miles as I played golf, scrubbed the floor when my wife was ill, built my own home (three times) – and all in the days when knee-pads and magic lotions were non-existent. So, it’s no reason that these days I am suffering every time I carry out some household maintenance such as I was doing this week, that involved being on my knees to do the work.
In truth, I have always been handy, so doing a bit of carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating, have for ever been something that I enjoy.
I worked all day today and did the same yesterday and the day before: but when I finished work today, and went to have a shower and change my clothes, I noticed as I dried myself that my stiff, aching knees were in fire. I could have used them to heat my tea.
And then I remembered Joint Ease, the first product we ever made. Applied some to both knees and in twenty minutes they had cooled. The inflammation and swelling had gone. Simple as that.
Let me explain: This article from the respected US National Institute of Health is a Systematic Review of the Anti-Inflammatory and Immunomodulatory Properties of 16 Essential Oils of Herbs used in traditional herbal Chinese medicine. It explains that as many of the wiser people in the world agree, these oils have a place in our society today because, in simple terms, they are anti-inflammatory – and that’s what my knees needed today.
Rosemary essential oils and others that we use are used world-wide today. But like olive oil that we love and use, they are abused and adulterated. But we have been using the same “safe” supplier for many years. One who can supply the documentation to say where they oils came from and where they were actually grown and steam-distilled. That’s why Joint Ease has been a success of Essence of Egypt. It’s just silly mee who forgot to use it.
Then I used common sense to cool the inflammation that caused the pain by using the lovely ingredients that Joint Ease offers
Containing aromatherapeutic benefits designed to soothe everyday joint discomfort, this distinctive and highly effective massage balm, is crafted to make my days more pleasant.
Safe for even the most sensitive skin, this fast-acting, topical, innovative lotion is non-irritating, offers excellent moisturising properties, and boasts a cosmetically pleasing texture – and it cooled my knees.
In daily use, I have found that Joint Ease offers rapid absorption into the skin, and is effective without leaving a greasy residue. It’s a natural aromatherapy formulation that effectively delivers active compounds through my skin for maximum beneficial impact on my body – and its long-lasting benefit is something that I really appreciate.
I won’t be searching for the newest knee replacement surgery, nor will I ever consider knee surgery, or a replacement operation, because I understand knee anatomy and the power that plant-based essential oils have in their unique ability to pass the blood-brain barrier that pharmaceutical drugs can’t do. But that, as they say is a story for another day.
Remember to have a look at Essence of Egypt. Our lovely, clean products are here to help you live a better life, much like your body benefiting by a good walk, the knees love a little TLC than can be gained from Joint Ease.
